If you can find this book for similar price elsewhere that would probably be best. very good book recommended, very thorough didn't take sides and didn't express any feelings remained neutral throughout the whole time,
was what I needed for class
this book was right on time for the price and just having the book in when I started my class
There are a lot of criminals out there. This book gave a good look at why criminals do the things they do and how to possibly prevent it.

Hey, I bought this for my class. My school was charging me double what this one costed. The book came on time, packaged in decent shape, and was in great shape with no problems. At the end of my semester I was able to sell this to my school for more than I paid for it. I recommend!
I bought this book in preparation for a course dealing with art and crime. Like most people, I had some preconceptions and thoughts about crime, who does it, what ways of countering it work and don't work, who does it and why.
Reading over this was an amazing eye opening experience it seems all of my biases, prejudices and preconceived points of view were either wrong or counter-productive. What also came shining through is the almost total non acceptance of well known methods, principles and techniques by not only the public, by politicians and by some in the law enforcement community.
The author is Distinguished Professor Emeritus at the University of North Carolina.
I would recommend it to anyone who has an interest in learning more about crime and criminology.
